Size the tradeUse the pip value calculator so you know what your stop costs before you place it.

Forex tools: common questions

Are these forex tools free?

Yes. Every tool on this page is free to use, with no sign-up, on desktop or mobile.

Do the tools work with MT4 and MT5?

Yes. The charts and calculators work for any platform. Pip values and lot sizes are the same whether you trade in MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, although your broker's contract size can differ, so check its specification for each pair.

Are the live charts real-time?

Yes. Live charts stream market data from TradingView during forex market hours. The prices are indicative; the exact price and spread you can trade come from your own broker.

What is a pip value calculator used for?

It shows how much money each pip of price movement is worth for your trade size, so you can see what a stop loss would cost before you place the trade. It is one of the simplest ways to keep risk under control.

Why does drawdown matter when choosing an EA?

Drawdown is the fall from an account's highest point to its lowest point before it recovers. It shows how deep the losing periods can be. Two systems with similar profits can have very different drawdowns, and the deeper the drawdown, the larger the gain needed to recover.
